Is there a joke somewhere with 10-2p or a typo?
Anyway, it's probably unlikely given how the vast majority of other mathematicians simply can't understand what he wrote to confirm it or not.
Which ones are the “high-prestige” fields? What about HDC? Is probability high prestige?
I was surprised that BB did not win. He was in the same 'slot' as JH.BB would have been a deserving candidate (like many others who didn't win) but on the other hand, I'm happy that they gave a medal for work in combinatorics for once instead of the same old "high-prestige" fields.

"high-prestige" = algebraic geometry and number theory
The selecting committee has a bias against Chinese mathematicians.
There's been 2 cycles where several who were eligible for the FM, have not been chosen.
These are Math breakthrough prize winners like Wei Zhang, Yun, Xu, Qinwen and not to forget Song Sun too.
I suspect if there were several French mathematicians who were in a similar position for at least 2 cycles, one of them would have won definitively.
Do they think they are cheating or copying or something? Lol
Even the Chinese at zhihu knew there was pretty much no chance this year for them.
If anything the breakthrough prize has a pro Chinese bias since it’s known one of its main donors demands recognition for his fellow countrymen.
Brendle, Williamson, and lurie all deserved it more than WZ but they didn’t get it.
Not to say nepotism never plays a role. Every year there’s a nepotism candidate, often French.

BB mistake was too much work with PS, so it would be weird if he won. On the other hand, maybe his work with PS is the one that rose him to prominence.
Tbh, this is a pretty weird selection. Two analytic number theory ppl, algebraic combinatorics, and probability… Alg nt, alg top, alg geo, rep theory,… the fields awarded were pretty niche… I feel like sarnak was involved in the selection committee, those are ppl in his areas that he would like
Literally all of the winners have some connection to combinatorics… extremely odd… the selection committee must’ve been biased or had dominating personalities like sarnak or maybe ben green/tim gowers as well
maybe its because there is too many algebraic geometry winner and not enough combinatorics winner in FM
Clearly the selection committee thought that was accurate this year…
