   Looks to me like they are getting poached, not fired.

   Did they really fire 50% of their female faculty? But then they must be on a DEI hiring spree this season. Isn’t veronesi all about hiring DEI these days? I bet that they will clear all the female rookie candidates on this year’s rookie market

   This is a new low for HBS. Her job market paper was a watered down version of someone else’s paper (search Jess Cornaggia). Other papers are also not path breaking. Wouldn’t get tenure at mediocre places like Indiana, yet she is seen as a prime candidate to be poached by HBS. Long live me too.

    Of course HBS can't attract good juniors, especially women, when they are dramatically lowering the bar. Who wants to be grouped with people there? The good ones accept other offers or leave, even rookies to MRM state schools. The same may start happening at Booth.

    Come on. Anyone will choose HBS over MRM state schools. Prestige matters, and it might just be the only thing that matters in econ/finance academia (because all research is useless anyway).

    Of course HBS can't attract good juniors, especially women, when they are dramatically lowering the bar. Who wants to be grouped with people there? The good ones accept other offers or leave, even rookies to MRM state schools. The same may start happening at Booth.

    If anything, this whole episode should teach us that b-schools can never be serious places for research. And don‘t blame those who benefit from all this bs. They are just being rational.
