At my scrum/agile shop, I would give daily standups to the scrum master and project manager, attach the Jira ticket with the work item, and at the end of the week fill out a time sheet. The time sheet had to have 40 hours so the hourly estimates for tasks had to align. I'd have a one on one with my boss once a month.
Then I get put on a PIP and fired because I'm told my estimates are off. There's been a lot of churn at the job and something like a third of the team quitting in the last two months.
I gave a decent effort trying to estimate the tasks and most importantly get the work done. However, management probably had some bossware installed on my machine measuring productivity. My boss can't really code and is more a business analytics and visualization SAP guy. The time sheets were for us but the scrum master and upper management didn't have to fill it out or weren't transparent.
It all feels surreal because I basically became a factory worker measured on piece work and time sheets, as opposed to software complexity, maintenance, and extensibility.
