Most candidates seem to be seasoned this year. I wonder what the perception of them is from the buyside relative to rookies?
I would guess they are the risk-averse choice, as most have pubs. On the other hand, most of these pubs are "B" journals. So a school requiring "A"s for tenure might prefer to take the risk on a high potential rookie, whereas non-PhD-granting schools could prefer seasoned.
One other thing: As mentioned above, these seasoned candidates appear to already have jobs and yet they put their CV up on the FMA board. Coming from a commercial background, I find it really odd. Surely, you want to be a bit discreet about it? It seems really crass. Is this normal for the academic market?
