2 years without pay. Lab being shut down.
Fryer suspended

Now, that an independent investigation has reached this conclusion, is the AEA also going to look into the issue? Or are they going to follow their traditional approach for these cases and give him a higher ranked position and a pay raise?
BTW, the picture in that story, is it really saying "force" vs "non-force" and then has something that looks like a probability conditional on "non.compliment type"? Obviously we don't know what the context and model is but its an interesting choice of a picture for this story.

There are many departments that would welcome him, no questions asked. Harvard can s_ck it.
I was going to say that he would never move, but in the Crimson they have this:
"If Fryer returns to Harvard in 2021, he will spend the following two years unable to advise or supervise students, and will teach undergraduate classes “subject to monitoring by a Title IX-trained individual.” Fryer will not have access to graduate student teaching fellows and he will not be able to teach graduate workshops, Gay wrote in her email."
This sort of destroys most of his chances of continuing his type of research for 4 years. Unless he is an advisor in a paper from a separate professor with his own RA army. 2 years barred from campus and all its resources and then another 2 years without any chance to do independent research (I mean, his kind of research) does sound like a probable reason to move.

Harvard insider here. This is pathetic. The investigations did *not* find any conduct to constitute sexual harassment or a Title IX violation. They simple decided it was "unprofessional".
If something as flimsy and vague as "unprofessional conduct" can be the basis for a 4 year suspension, what the f**k is tenure for?

But I am a million times more interested to know what the AEA has to say (given that we caught them trying to hide the story). In fact, by trying to hide the story the AEA actively become an accomplice in the whole story. Does Harvard have anything to say about their dealings with the AEA considering that we know that the AEA tried to conceal the story?

Has anyone noticed that some #metoo accusations, often frivolous in nature, disproportionately target high-profile men of color?
You can hardly call the accusations against RF "frivolous."
What are your other examples? R-Kelly?Neil Degrassi Tyson
Aziz Ansari
George Takei -
Weird that the punishment is tougher for his research than for his advising and teaching
He is also barred from advising during that time. He can only teach undergrad courses during his probation period.

Settle down Chicago professor, your university is not investigating your faculty so keep it cool and don't shake the boat too much so that they ignore you. (you thought you fooled us with the "Harvard insider" comment?)

What kind of mentally ill diatribe is this?

George TakeiYou're right those were frivolous - they were so frivolous I'd forgotten all about them.
Still, most of the metro allegations I can think of are against white men. You'll need more than three examples to convince me that they disproportionally affect men of color.
