Future of US academia: Iranian, Chinese, and Indians

The USA is a formidable country in many aspects. It has a weak basic educational system producing masses of ape-like monolingual antivaxxers / flatearthers. It even has creationist museums, how brilliant is that? Still it has mastered the art of producing high value added from such a chalenged population. That is the magic of free markets and low burocracy. And freedom. And property rights. So yes, intelligent people from all around the world
What century do you think you live in where the US has low bureaucracy? If you transport the US to the world of 1900, it would have the largest bureaucracy in history.
You have no been around much, have you? Just look up the ease of doing business index.
Scandinavian countries, Canada, and the US are all near the top. Are you seriously going to argue that these countries have small bureaucracies?
The US is well-known to be a relatively easy country in terms of bureaucracy, yes. Try applying to a public sector in Italy, move there, get a residency permit, open a bank account, rent a flat, buy a car, etc. You will probably lose your mind with bureaucracy immediately in the first step. A lot of paper work and long time spent waiting for decisions on your request. The US, Canada, etc are usually well placed in those international ranking for GOOD reasons. They have optimized bureaucratic processes to make life easier for businesses and individuals.

You mean the earth is not flat? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I've been driving for days scared that I might fall off the edge of the earth. Whew!

There are about 3 billions of Indians and Chinese. Infinite new blood!
Chinese Americans and Indian Americans (2nd gen) are extraordinarily high achievers. Probably 3rd gen will still be high achievers and only after that we’ll decline like Yts and new blood will be needed

If USA does not use its military might onto other countries and peoples around the world and constantly asserting its influence and instigating regime change whenever it suits USA, it will not be so great.

Future? Have you looked around econ grad programs in the US in the last two decades? Already 70+% foreign born, not much further to go.
30% of college professors are foreign born, so still some distance to go there.
Compare this to k-12, where it is 8%. Nearly all the industries we have critical shortages of labor in are no where 30% foreign born.

The talented people from India are not a random sample of the billion people ljl. Look at their last names and you will get an idea

Even flatearthers would realise there is an ocean out there... So yes, you can drive around. Just be careful with other drivers.

Maybe Chinese and Indians but I don’t understand why OP is obsessed with Iranians (almost sure OP is an Iranian). Iran is only strong in Engineering, but even not comparable with Chinese and Indians
Yes, that seems strange. Proportionally the same thing is happening to lots of countries that are not so attractive to live / work but are still training good people. As top IQ people are born randomly around the world, it makes sense that they would tend to move to where they can get the most out of their talent. Iran is just another country where you would be born by chance and would likely want to get away from (politics, religious extremism, oppression, etc)

When a 20-year old White American cannot solve a basic 2x2 system of equations, this what happens.
Yes, that is what I call the "smarts gap". Optimal life game is to get your basic education somewhere else, for free, then sell your knowledge in the USA for lots of $$$$.

The US has maintained free markets and relatively low bureaucracy despite these shortcomings you list. Institutionally the US is king. And Iran and China will always be ruled by brutes.

Interesting, your tone suggests disagreement but what you actually say agrees with my statement. The US has adopted and developed great economic institutions. Even if it has a large segment of low skill population, due to lack of investment in basic education, it manages to be extremely productive. Hence it is a natural beacon for talent around the world that is fleeing cleptocracies and tirany.
