Here’s the thing, and I want to make this plain. I know I’m better than you. I know my SAT was higher. I know my grades were higher. I know my GMAT/ GRE was higher. I know I if we were in the same classes I would have crushed you. I know this BECAUSE I am Black in these “meritocratic” spaces and to get in and succeed I had to be better than my white and Asian counterparts. This is the case for most Black Americans in these spaces. This is why I think these things are so funny. You’re convinced Black people are inferior, I’m convinced that we have to overcome racism, and do that we have to be more talented than you can imagine. But if it makes you feel better to believe in bigoted ideas, I suggest you keep them to yourself, lest you wind up like this adjunct- fired.

If this guy is for real.. that's one of the worst copes I've ever seen. You're a diversity admit/hire/anything, you got in because of your skin color alone. The first step is to accept it and move on and be humble.

There is zero babysitting anywhere in the world. I know because I passed through the process and now I am into admissions and mentorship for black people throughout Africa and my highly talented students with, yes, great profiles way ahead of many of the privileged Americans, they are not definitely not being babysat.

Should I deduce that in the US they will check that a native Black candidate is actually a Foundational AA and not a descendant of later African immigrants? If this is true then the US is not worse than N@zi Germany.

No, the slippery slope is letting everyone get AA, when the US Census predicts that whtes will become a minority in 2045.

When you have a ever larger "protected" class taking opportunities and positions from an ever shrinking "majority" (but actually minority) class, that usually signals something bad will happen to society pretty soon...

Fact: in the U.S. internationals, regardless of the color of their skin or ethnicity, don't "count" for AA. Sort of knew this was true informally, but did not realize it was also formally until I entered an administrative position. For an actual African get into a top American PhD program must be damn near impossible.
