^, ^^ german myself but what you write is very true. The stuff my fellow countrymen write (especially in research work) is hilarious.
German Market

It's a country that admires some nutcases like Hegel, Schopenhauer and Nietzsche for writing childish uncomprehensible crap, but thinks of Adam Smith as some low-life Scottish moralist. That explains why in Germany economists have lost it since the beginning of time...

And the links there. Will these idiots never stop? The big problem - differently from the US these fringe people are listened to in Germany. In fact, it seems that the fringe people of the world are now gathering in Germany. Kruggi and Joey are idolized there...

Great. A manifesto on a supposedly necessary reform of economics written and supported by Ulrich Thielemann (business ethics guy and Habermas worshipper) and Thomas Fricke (a retarded journalist still parading what he learned from a 1970s macro textbook). Wonderful people. What can go wrong?

There is modern "scientific" economics vs old fashioned ideology (from left and right)
PLUS
capitalism vs a heaviliy regulated leftish"market" economy with lots of redistribution. They usually try to create a controversy between "scientific" economics + capitalism on the one hand and ideology and a heaviliy regulated leftish "market" economy on the other hand.
They consider Krugman and Stiglitz to be of the second type, while in fact they have been good scientist using modern scientific methods (ie they are members of the first group) for most of their career and just started to become left wing "journalists" in recent years.
I wonder what all the protesters would think about an early Stiglitz AER paper.
PS: funny how Straubhaar sucks up everything that he thinks could get him into the media, pathetic ...
"Topökonom", tssss ....

Fricke is worse than OlafAbsolutely. Fricke got his economics education at second rate French universities during the 1980s and 1990s. He has not learned anything new ever since. So there's no reason at all to expect any even remotely reasonable commentary from that guy. But it's still amazing to see that such an undereducated dickhead has the nerve to declare himself judge and jury over the state of modern economics.
