You're welcome. I sit in lots of these commissions and think the "teaching philosophy" is complete bogus. If anything, these boilerplate statements will help you not to look unprepared. A large part of job talks in Germany is showing that you have done your homework and you have thought about the faculty you would be joining etc.
What about digging a bit deeper than the boilerplate statements and look at the actual teaching performance of a candidate? With this I do not mean some average from an evaluation, but evidence whether anything of the teaching philosophy was put in practise. Most comissions are too lazy to do that, though. They rather rely on a 30 minute "Lehrvortrag" that says nothing about the day-to-day teaching performance.
