We here obviously tend to emphasize the fact that he is a tenured professor, but that is clearly less important for students. As a student of economics, I should be open to different views on how to conduct monetary policy. I shouldn't have to worry about whether my professor is a racist or not because he was the head of what is now an openly extremist party. I think this is a perfectly legitimate demand by students.

Making him responsible and calling him a Nazi or a racist for the stuff that the Höckes of the party are saying since 2015 is utter and complete nonsense.

Dude, it was no coincidence that the AFD was taken over by nazis rather than by vegan pacificit hipsters. Lucke welcomed them as long as they helped him to win elections. Aren't students not allowed to hold him accountable for his actions as head of the party. It's silly to frame these protests as an attack on academic freedom.
