How long does it take to get invited/rejected after having applied for an AP position in Germany? I've applied for a position with deadline end of September but haven't heard back. Does it mean I'm out or is it common that it takes so long in Germany?still haven't heard back. So I guess I'm out and just don't let me know for wahtever reason?
I became a professor for different reasons than money. And I am perfectly well off with my W3 salary. And sorry: it is quite below the numbers you guys seem to be dreaming of.
thanks! none of the people here will listen to you and none seem capable to just look up the numbers under the link from a page ago. And then they dream of 150k upwards salaries, haha.
the amount of deception in the German youngsters is perplexing: They view themselves a superstars when they have their first pub in Economics Letters and require salaries unkonw in the poublic sector for this stellar achievement - when they then land a job in Paderborn or Chemnitz they annoy their colleagues for a few more years with this attitide before they becme deadwood for the rest of their career. Happens again and again since the days of Wilhelm Krelle (if you do not know the name, don't apply for a German professorship)
Das ist wunderbar beschrieben. Ich habe diese Gerüchte auch geglaubt, bis ich mal meinen Mut zusammennahm und einen dieser Krelles direkt gefragt habe. Da wurde mir klar, dass das alles Ammenmärchen waren. (Von einem weiteren Krelle habe ich dann mal die Steuererklärung gesehen, insofern war das vermutlich echt.) Ich weiß nur von einem VWLer, der viel Geld verdient hat. Der Sohn eines Dresdner Bank Vorstandes, der sich parallel mit einer GmbH selbständig gemacht hat und jetzt fulltime die Bundeskanzlerin auf B3 oder so (=nichts) berät; Name könnt Ihr herauskriegen. Ein anderer BWLer, der wirklich reich geworden ist, hat das mit faktischer Schutzgelderpressung getan - Gerichtsverfahren, die er wegen eines Millionenerbes überhaupt finanzieren konnte und mit denen er große AGs erpresst hat (weil die die Regeln nicht eingehalten haben). Das ist übrigens wahnsinnig viel Arbeit und hat nix mit Top5 zu tun. Also hier träumen wirklich eine Menge Leute.
Man kann übrigens 150 durchaus schaffen: Mit sehr vielen (mind. 3) Rufen, idealerweise aus der Schweiz (man muss dann meistens aber von dort kommen, so doof sind die Deutschen nicht mehr) und mit Umziehen plus viele Kinder. Dann kratzt man an 150. Nur so dasitzen und träumen und mal einen Ruf ablehnen reicht nicht.

Try B9. Not that it makes a difference from him (as you rightfully say), but you are underestimating public sector pay. B3 is for Referatsleiter, of which there are a hundred or more in every ministry (i.e. easier to achieve than a W3, but also more useful for society).

And is it so wrong to do what the Vorgesetzter wants? Maybe he/she is right from time to time.

Hierzu: Das sind aber natürlich Ausnahmen und nicht alle Uni gehen so hoch....Ich glaube es gibt genug Leute die nah am Grundgehalt sind
