well, to be honest, I am not so clear what the Wunderkind achievment is to write down the lecture notes of your macro prof, and make a hlaf way coherent text book out of it. This is pretty much the same as many German text books at that time, covering IS-LM and AD-AS and not much beyond.
Rather caharcteristic of the state of German economics academia of that time that this is enough to be a star.
What was the alternative? Calibration? Wow? Micro-Foundations? Come off it!!!

I will not reveal my identity, but maybe with enough research you're able to figure it out. So far I enjoyed the anonymity and the good insiders jere. Regarding Stefan I have now written enough - he was definitely brillant as a student and a young professor, but the Bonn leave was probably a mistake in hindsight.

My guess is that the position will not be filled again. The set of people accepted by Mannheim, desired by ZEW, and want to work at the ZEW is empty.

NDw steht auf eins. So, und nun zu den Kommentaren, wie ihr sie findet und ob sie ihm würdig nachfolgt.
NS's publication output is in an entirely different league than NDw's. The argument from above that '50 years ago Economics was different than what NS does now' says more about OP being old fashioned than about the quality or validity of NS's research.
As for NDw, at least she has produced twice as many JPubE in 1/3 of the time than the Wunderkind that she is supposed to succeed.
