Es darf halt keiner wissen, dass du 100% Lehre vom Homeoffice aus machst.
Was anderes: Gehören Profs eigentlich zur 3. Impfgruppe, ähnlich wie Lehrer, für die Corona-Impf-Priorisierung?
Miss P, time to have some serious talk with Mr. P this evening!Name or shame
Ich dachte, dass sei der andere Kollege am ifo, der solche Doktorandinnen bevorzugtDer andere mit P?!
Serious question: How common is it that Profs date their PhD students?
Male profs and female PhD students? Quite common.
Never heard about a case with a female prof and male student.
What on earth is a senior professorship and why does Peter Bofinger have one?Why not?
Btw: Has anyone seen the discussion with Mankiw today?
->Peter says from his poin of view the book has some weak points.
->Greg agrees from his point of view, but a textbook is not for own points of view, rather of the whole profession.
-> Peter nanswers, nevertheless, as this is a powerful book, Mankiw can make some points
->Mankiw says no, cause the book will loose power, when it stops cover the whole picture of the whole profession.
->RR says, it's the job of the lecturer to make own points...
->Anna says why only describing and not designing the economy
->Greg&RR say, economics is about illustrating where markets and governments fail and what are the instrument to overcome the failures including describing potential side-effects. As there are always trade-offs and side-effects, it is up to individual preferences and thus a question social chioce how to solve market failures.
So it is not about the book is good/right or bad/wrong, it is about different views what and how a textbook and economics can and should contribute.
I learned again from this discussion and twitter postings afterwards that people like Anna Reisch, Claudia Kemfert and (most) Pluralists are Activists rather than Scientists. They have a political agenda and are not interested in exploring how things work.

So true. The same applies to Fratzscher and many more.
If activists are taken more seriously than real scientists, the economics profession is doomed. And I have the feeling this is often the case nowadays.
