The state pension is at least guarenteed by the Grundgesetz. That you will get the Rente is less likely.

If it's up to the Green party, in the future, professors (and other civil servants) will have to contribute to the pension system; a big advantage of being a professor in the German system will thus disappear. Only sometimes, politicians really have "skin in the game". And everybody can see how they behave in these situations.
