Why is Rudi not in the FAZ ranking? Will he at least top the Forschungsmonitoring ranking?
Because probably he's overrated? Or probably he does not account as an German economist since he doesn't live in Germany?
Fehr tops the ranking by far and obviously doesn't live in Germany, so what logic is that?

Serious question: On which rank in this FAZ list will the next Gossen Award winner be (if he/she even appears in the ranking)? I'm thinking about the negative correlation between research impact/reputation and overall ranking pointed out by several on twitter (including RR)...

The criterion to make it into the overall ranking is based in DACH, not D. Rudi is in the social media ranking and not even that high.

Top contenders are probably Scheuer, Lauermann, Ossa, Yanagizawa (not in the ranking), Dorn, Peichl, Suedekum, Rothe (in the ranking).
