The only real tenure-track in the German-speaking area is in Zurich. They have a lifetime "landing-spot" position behind every single junior hire, just like it's supposed to be.
And therefore only Zurich is a serious competitor to the good US and UK departments in DACH. Simple as that.

Anyone who met him a few decades ago can testify to that. Unfortunately, when he left Bonn as a young and highly esteemed economist, his star began to decline, I guess. Nevertheless, no reason to be so abusive here.
