People at research schools who think they're unquestionably better than the teaching school folks are kidding themselves.
Just look at how much garbage is published by research school folks.
No one is underplaced. People cannot move up from teaching schools because they deserved to be there in the first place. Stop making excuses. Stop publishing and enjoy getting paid 150k for just teaching 6 classes a year.
END OF THREAD.
I bet my money on this person being a protestant

Why you think so? I’m agnostic. Anyway, people at teaching schools saying they cannot publish because they’re too busy teaching is similar to professors in China saying they cannot publish in AER only because their English sucks. They really believe that’s the only reason.

They are underpressure and complain about reviewers. I never complain about research. I can do whatever I like and not bothering about comments - as long as cabell journal is fine.
That's why I prefer teaching schools

English bad is not the reason. We can pay proof read or translator. Many people with PhD English Literature are happy to do proof read with only USD 80 per hour.

I teach 5-5 outside US with 100k.
Only 2 Scopus indexed journals every 5 years
But it is a good living in a country where the minimum wage is 5k per yearIndia?

Teaching a course in Indonesia is not same as teaching a course in the US. For example, number of teaching hours per course may differ. Therefore comparing US 3-3 to Indonesia 5-5 is meaningless without further details.

I agree - in most of Indonesian Unis. But our school adopts US curriculum and textbooks - because our senior faculties and administrators got PhD from (mostly) US schools such as: UC Berkeley, USC, UIUC, Texas A&M, Indiana Bloomington, U o Oregon, U o Arkansas, U o Michigan, U o Houston, Wharton. So I can say roughly the same - perhaps students behavior are different.

In many teaching schools in China, professors can make about 200k USD per year by holding positions at real estate companies, which is insane.
