Seems to me that coursera, edX, etc. will eventually lead to drastically reduced number of faculty at all but top 25 or so schools. How will this play out?
Given rise of Online Education, will there be jobs for Academics in 10 years?

So, we will have courses without instructors or content? Sounds very efficient... George Will's column a few days ago stated that there are now more administrators at US colleges than full-time faculty. Is this true??
I was once an academic admisturbator (now research faculty). Not only is it true that there are more administrators than faculty, but I can say (not only speaking for myself) that with few exceptions, administrators are the scum of the earth. With any luck, these parasites will have outsourced the faculty they nominally were supposed to serve to the web, and find themselves on the unemployed on the street, without any hosts to invade.
