if you have to "grind" in hs to get good grades, then you are dumb. arguably same could be said of college, also.
LJL you didn't go to Hotchkiss
And thats not grinding?
Ok, so u went somewhere s**ttte. Thanks for proving my point.
The high school grinding if you want to get into a great university isn't about studying, it's about filling your resume with ten thousand bulls**t extracurriculars.You seem incredibly dumb. I got into a top 5 (by any world ranking) university. And I didn't have to study for classes in high school a bit. I did have to spend my time running myself ragged being well rounded, which for god knows what reason is what university admissions in the U.S. is about.

Just what do you think the "it's" there was referring to? I was talking about grinding, you dope, just explaining what form it takes.

Good colleges are filled with valedictorians from small rowns bro. The higher u go, it never ends...
So true, probably half my class at a top 10 was val or sal of their class. I know for a fact a lot of them are doing pretty poorly.
The best students seem to come from exceptional backgrounds (ie. parents were professors or whatnot) or they went to good prep schools. It's just too hard for a lot of the vals from adverse backgrounds to make up the lost ground in a few short years, usually.
*goes to 100th activity he despises to get to uchicago (also sorry UC is not top 5) *
* does not grind *
