   Let's just be a honest as possible here. He constructed a hypothetical scenario, asking what would happen if football players behaved like this.
   A very crude scenario, and I would not try to get my point across like this. But again, if we're being honest, he never compared NFL protestors to the KKK. You know that, and I know that.

   That's not what he's saying. He's claiming that if players behaved in the manner he's suggesting, people would not tolerate it by claiming "free speech" the same way they do the kneeling.

   Listen, I am somebody who is not only OK with kneeling, I actually support it. But we can't be disingenuous with what somebody said or did not say in attempt to "cancel" them. Those are dangerous, dangerous waters.

   Things like this make people from outside academia look at the concept of tenure and scratch their heads.

   He would've been fired or, at a minimum, reprimanded for thrash thread if he worked in any private business.

   Well, I partially agree. He has still some lining of marxist thought in his reasoning, but the main similarity to commies is he kind of taliban views which reflect the same quasi-religious adoration of the marxists.

    I think defunding the police is an excellent idea. The police is a bloated, has way too much responsibility and institutional baggage.

    That said, I think Uhlig is fine for voicing his opinion, but I do think he is wrong. And making him resign for his comments is outrageous.
