I study for 2 hours and watch tv for 10. Am I doing something wrong?
How many hours a day should a PhD student study?

5 hours of real brainwork per day is the upper bound. Note, this is typically stretched out to an 8 hour day which includes eating, youtube, this godforsaken forum, and bullshitting with colleagues.
I see mathematicians often say that the upper bound is 6 hours per day. But yeah, I can also accept 5 hours of real, actual work. No less than that, though. More than 8 hours per day of actual work is just not realistic.
