Columbia has been selling degrees as cash cows. Columbia alma mater on the resume is almost worthless now.
Every degree for which you have to pay full tuition is a cash cow degree...
I'm surprised people don't think BA degrees are cash cows...
Because they are competitive, and whose courses are not taught by adjuncts, such as the Columbia MA in Stats or the MA in Economics.
College admission rates are driven down by unsuspecting college aspirants from all over the country and the world thinking they stand a chance at a HYPC college by having a 3.5 GPA. I doubt the stats MA at Columbia accepts students with a weak undergrad. From what I know, they only accepts Chinese students with prestigious Chinese degrees.
