Feel bored at workshops, don't like reading papers, don't understand the exciting point of a "good" paper, what is the meaning of staying in academica?

Hear another one. For me solution is going to industry. Academia is either if you are unemployable in industry or if you like the lifestyle. I personally do not like it because it is too slow and irrelevant, at the end of the day. No one takes academia serious in finance so no need to be an academic unless you like this ‘teach and chill’ lifestyle

It is not possible to go to industry if you are 40+, that door starts shutting around 35

It doesn't get better with time, you are extremely unlikely to develop a taste for it.
Your options are i) get lucky with a trendy area/data that give you a few relatively easy pubs, sneak over the tenure wall, become deadwood, or go into admin.
ii) be a lemon,
Get out. -
I think this would be like not liking to talk with patients and choosing a consulting medical specialty. If you really do not like research, academic career at research professorship tracks is just not for you.
And that is totally fine.
You can either drop entirely out of the profession, or find something adjacent that makes you happy e.g. Professor of Practice of Finance.

I like research but do not like being pressured to publish. The pressure makes me dishonest, which I hate.
Perhaps it's the genes associated with your Chinese ethnicity that caused you to be dishonest when it suits your purposes.
Perhaps its in your genes to write to in ane stuff on an anonymous board
