No regrets here. 40. Beautiful wife who goes to the gym everyday (after her 6 figure job). We have tons of friends, hobbies, and more money than we know what to do with. We thought seriously about having kids 10 years ago, but we are both so glad we didn't.Lmao. My uncle and aunt similarly decided to stay childless. They had a lot of fun on their 40s, a bit less in their 50s, and now they are looking forward to a very lonely old age.
I don't care how much money they have, I spent Christmas with them and it's the saddest thing in the world.

I'm 35 and freak out about it daily. A childless life is incomplete and nothing more than perpetual adolescence. A life not centered on family and relationships isn't worth living. I pray continuously that I'll meet someone but every second that goes by is torturous.

Think about how much time and energy you have for your parents. Is it at the level you imagine you will receive from any kids you have when they're your age? Is it at the level you would want it to be at that advanced age? Is there a reason you will buck the trend of weakening family ties?

Asian kids take ca/re of their parents. Americans are a bunch of de/g/ens who only think of themselves.

I have seen my Asian in-laws' two kids essentially abandon them. They send forlorn messages begging the kids to come visit (all in the US). These are 2nd gen kids. The 3rd gen will be hopeless. Btw, I have seen horrific treatment of elderly parents back in the home country. Look up 'kodokushi' for the Japanese phenomenon.
By all means, have kids if you think it is part of the human experience or whatever. But don't do it if you think they are going to be your insurance and certainly don't do it for evolutionary or societal reasons. Lol.
