He always gives me positive feedback. Objectively sometimes I take too long/slack off, but he never seems to notice. I just complete the task later and he's happy. Meanwhile some of my colleagues are getting worked to the bone.
Should I be worried? He's already told me he'll write me an LOR.

3.84. Math major with A+ in Real Analysis. 170Q, 154V. Two pubs, one in AER, another solo lower ranked. Prof is HRM, highly respected. Chances?
3.84 may not cut it for VHRM. 154V will also hurt a bit. With 154V one can assume that writing is also weak and desired score should be >5.0. AER is good but there are candidates with a stronger publication record in this competitive field. There are 2000-3000 applicants. I would say that chance are mediocre at best for VHRM but top 20 for sure.

If you are really that good at math, then one thing that you can do to improve your chances is to take GRE 3-4 times, score Q170 on each attempt and then send all test results (instead if just one). This will clearly signal that your Q170 is not random and you did not try 5 times to get it but you are super good at math.
