Nah. Leetcode is tough, but leetcode can be gamed. Just look at all the indian coding interviews where they require you to solve several hards. They do that because they know that the majority of interviewees have memorised all the leetcodes out there. The correct statement would be, passing leetcode interviews is a good proxy for intelligence if you did not prepare 500 questions in advance, you did not spend 100s of hours prepping and you did not memorise solutions. Also comparing PhD and leetcode is nonsensical. Different skills are needed.
