Is not publishing JMP a sign you can never be a top economist?

If you believe it is important contribution to Economics, publish it…
What’s your reason to not publish your jmp?
I'm bored of this paper and don't want to spend 4 years responding to 2-3 people trying to convince them. It's R&R at a top 5 but I am just bored of this.

OP, this poster is right. Peer review is just about spending a lot of time convincing 2-3 people that your work is good. If you genuinely have a top5 R&R as an AP, congrats, that's really good for your tenure case. Now you need to figure out how to convert it.
