Aww, poor OP is triggered by objections to naked discrimination dressed up in shoddy econometrics.
It's unsettling the reaction here to harvard discrimination case

I oppose affirmative action in modern academia, and hope that this case will result in the end of affirmative action.
OP is almost certainly right that there is some hypocrisy by EJMR. This place is infested with anti-Asian remarks during the job market.
The prevalence of anti-Asian remarks on EJMR exposes some of the stupidity of the affirmative action system, though. Some forms of anti-Asian bias are socially accepted even in liberal circles. Despite this and a long history of legal discrimination against Asians in the United States, Asian-Americans are net losers from affirmative action.
Another rationale for affirmative action in faculty hiring is that students need role models. But at elite schools, this in turn is mostly due to affirmative action in admissions.

The cheerleading going on is a bit over the top, ejmr never cared about discrimination, but now that it might in-fact lead to reducing/killing AA (and hurting other minorities significantly) ejmr is quick to lead the charge.
Let's cut the crap. You are cheerleading this because you want to see an end to affirmative action. You do not care about discrimination against asians.
Stop being cowards, this forum is anonymous.Whats wrong about ending AA?

So it is in the western world. What’s your point?
And whities care about the global good? People born and raised in Asia are way more considerate and helpful compared to the people in the West. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron.
70% of EJMR is Asian and Asians only care about themselves and their own in-group
Super considerate toward others of their nationality. Racism is rampant in Asian countries compared to most of the world.

OP, do you think it is fair that first or second generation Africans, children of African warlords, dictators, and corrupt elites, descendants of slave traders who sold their own people to slavery, can score 170 on the LSAT and have a 99 percent chance to get in HLS? For a white working class person with a 170 LSAT score, the chances of getting in HLS with such score are 1 in 3.

My point is that it's worse in Asia by an extraordinary magnitude.

Okay. Good to know about your deep insight. I would like to see your deep and intellectual thought process behind your assessment. Asians and blacks are the most discriminated group all over the world. You travel to Europe and you will have to face huge discrimination in your day to day life. Have you ever heard someone from Europe traveled to Asia and had to face discrimination. Get your head out of ass.

Overall, there's two kinds of people who might superficially share the same characteristics of good test scores and doing well in some form of extracurricular activity.
a) Those who are naturally gifted with a wide range of interests who also happen to do very good at what they do.
b) Those who spend a lot do time trying to acquire a profile that on the surface looks similar to the profile described above.
Just because you read in the newspaper that Harvard admits kids with good test scores who play in the state orchestra and then spend 16 hours a day practicing for the SAT and the violin doesn't mean you're guaranteed a spot at Harvard.

Why do mods systematically delete every post mentioning a certain demographic? It's impossible to have a debate on AA and representation if you remove all posts mentioning that particular demographic.
The more people shut down any debate about that particular demographic, the more people will resent them. We can discuss Asians or Muslims here AFAIK, so why are certain chosen people above any form of criticism or even mention?

My point is this: a 25 year old black male faces more racism in East Asia than anywhere in the world.

Stop being cowards, this forum is anonymous. We are cheering this because it exposes the incredible dumbness and the atrocious hypocrisy of the left. There's nothing to hide; it's very plain and simple and it is a good enough reason in itself.

That is not true at all.

I met her years ago. She is not very nice. She was one of the most arrogant, unreasonable, opinionated, and sexist people I have ever met.
Susan Dynarski who is a prominent Michigan economist specializing in education policy has been a vocal opponent of EJMR and advocated Harvard's admission policies. She has also been openly rude on Twitter to anyone, including asian males, who disagreed with her position. I wonder if you are even an economist if you don't even get a basic reference on this case.
