Perhaps they are not letting all the bad papers in that everyone complains about in the JFE. Just saying. Some of then could be in fact very good referees with high standards. But without any input on the quality of paper, it’s hard to tell much. In any case, for anyone with less than 30 or so papers hard to read much into 5% or 10% acceptance rate - basic stats. Yeah zero could be special.

BTW, what happened to the other thread on this?
Not surprised about LC. He just rejected every paper. Now, he is an editor at RFS. The number of empirical asset pricing papers at RFS will be really low, and only by HRM. Bad choice by RFS to choose him as an editor.
