08/18/20 there are 8 postings on ASSA (almost all HRM)
08/18/20 there were 41 postings
Effectively down 80%
Exactly. I have two students of mine and the department is sending them due to a budgetary reason. This is like saying "Be jobless" for MRM JMCs. Even many of HRM won't find any.
I seriously don’t see the point of not delaying. This JM is not feasible for 99% of the candidates

I seriously cannot understand the budgetary problem. Any smart PhD director should reduce intake of new PhD students for next year. No school is going to hire, so no new APs. Somebody must teach those courses. Guess who is almost an AP and is already teaching those courses?
It literally cost the same to keep 4/5 last year PhDs than hiring 1 new AP. They have the same exact skills.
Our PhD director didn't reduce intake of new PhD students
I guess many school didn't reduce too because the outbreak was after we gave out offers.

Ive seen people delaying during the financial crisis when postings were down by 10%.
Even the idea of “just try the market and we will see” does not make sense. You are going to have 2000 JMC competing for 100 jobs. Just imagine the amount of noise.
