   A slight follow up- I do not enjoy how the media paint Peterson as a backwater crank. Getting a job at Toronto is HARD. Getting tenure at Toronto is even harder. Peterson is probably in the top 0.1% or the field, it’s not like he’s art laffer or Lisa cook. He’s not even coasting on his past accomplishments to bully platforms into broadcasting him yelling at clouds (Kruggles or Summers). He’s treated like a freakshow

   Regardless of the specifics around JP, conditions in academia have been getting progressively worse for white cis males for decades at this point. I remember my father saying that upon achieving tenure, he was told to expect no further advancement as it wouldn't send the right message for a white man like him to be a senior representative of the department. Btw this was in CS of all fields.

   Out of curiosity, who gets to advance further? I'd expect Azn men to face the same predicament as white men. But CS departments are mainly filled with white and Azn men, both by selection and by talent, no? So that leaves the super minority of women?

   So this particular place was in the southwestern US so I think they were looking for someone Hispanic

    But he's not saying the students are good, just qualified. Luckily, however, they are supremely trained by someone who spend most of his time making videos and podcasts.

    If it was a prominent professor of color and it was blk females not getting jobs, CBC would have story after story on it.
