   It might be productive for tenured economists at top departments to compile a list of female macroeconomists who are more qualified than Professor Cook for the position. To beat identity-driven crusades, you have play the game a bit by providing tangible proof that you actually are for inclusive meritocracy.

   It's amazing the lie/s they are willing to push to get her hired. Imagine what goes on during hiring for tenure track jobs. At this point, all that matters is gender and race. People have completely lost their mar/bles.

   You'll notice that the defense of LC usually involves appeals to pedigree like "she taught at harvard!" when all these positions were given to her because of her race and gender. In other words, they completely ignore her actual work product and focus on things that can be "socially engineered" by the economics community. It is distu/rbing.

    As a PoC who publishes in the right places, isn't obnoxious on Twitter, focuses on doing rigorous work, I find these situations disheartening. People like us are getting drowned out by substandard PoC who are loud and begging to be tokenized. Today it's the Fed, tomorrow it's pubs in AER and QJE. Then all the PoC trying to do things the right way will be pushed aside for loud Twitter PoC who make guilty yt ppl feel good about themselves.
