is it well-respected in economics departments?
It used to count equivalent as JLawEcon but I think over the years JLegalStudies has moved more towards the law part of law and economics. I think anyway; I hear it's a very good hit for a law faculty, but probably it's still just as great as Jlawecon.
This is what I meant too. JLS seems to be viewed by most economists as a law journal not as much a law and Econ journal. I don't agree but I'm outside the typical view.
