   You are the one being weird, and I seriously doubt you are at a top 10 place (althouth we know that there 30 schools among the "top 10"). I know lots of behavioral economists, including most of the top ones (you would know my name if I were dumb enough to say it here). They have lots of JEBOs, GEBs, and J of Ec Psych, but not many MSs, and maybe not as many EEs as especially the JEBOs and GEBs. You want to name some who have lots of MSs but hardly any EEs or these others?
   MS looks ranked about right by RePec, even if EE may be too high for reasons alreaddy stated. MS for a long time did not publish much by economists and was down, but it has come back up again, clerly top field for managerial evon, but nowhere close to it for beharioal. That is just plain silly.

   OK, MS gang, going to take all of you effing liars down.

   In the list of 10 supposedly top 10 behavioral economists (a joke of a list), it was claimed by one of you liars that it was 18 to 5 in citations. But I have checked it out. Of that iist there were 10 EE pubs, including the not-listed 2 Fischbacher Z-tree articles, which between them have over 15,000 citations, those 2 alone have more citations than all of the 18 MS pubs listed in this lying post. Of course, those pubs were why I did not compare MS to EE but rather did to JEBO and GEB. We all know that EE is where it is because of those and a few other pubs that not only have lots of cites, but the papers citing them have lots of cites. That is why EE is in its arguably overrated 29th position.

   The only person you listed with more EEs than MSs is Selten, who is unambiguously not a behavioral economist (although of course he’s a good economist).

   So you really haven’t supported the claim that top behavioral economists publish in EE more than MS. It’s been blown out of the water. You want to move the goalposts now and compare JEBO instead. Whatever. The point was always that EE is bad and MS is better, and all data presented have supported that.

   The behavioural department in ms is very clubby, especially some AE. Many papers are shallow and have nothing to do with managemnenent.

   Correction helping you MS fanatics. Its ultimste totsl is 30, not 24, so it it slightly ahead of EE, but once we pay attention to citstions to those papers, not to mention recursive discounted ones, EE way ahead of MS, competing with JEBo for top spot (which has the Nobel Prize papers by Thaler and, in the future, probably List).

   Looks like its JEBO vs EE for the top spot with GEB vs MS for third place.

   While he was most famous for game theory, which explains his many pubs in GEB, Reinhard Selten was most definitely a behavioral economist, declaring his allegiance to this increasingly as time went on.

   He founded the longest running experimental econ lab in Europe in Bonn. His book on bounded rationality with Gerd Gigerenzer (somehow not mentioned on this thread so far) is one of the classic workks of BE. And he even published in the Review of Behavioral Economics (RoBE) before he passed from the scene.

    I think Behavioral is a quite clubby field in general (i.e. this is not particular to MS). I think this partly results from the fact that some people are editors in almost all the journals that publish behavioral work. I think that is really unhealthy as these people will have far too much power to control what is published.

    There is just no way JEBO is better than EE, just take a careful look at the recent articles in each.

    Agreed. The new chief editor seems to have initiated a bit of a purge of the experimental crap they were publishing at ad nauseam. Only Ockenfels left on the editorial board who does experimental econ.

    Here is the ultimate joke on all this MS ushing. Somebody posed it as the top behavioral econ journal because John List was on its board. So where has he published?

    John List EE 5, JEBO 4, MS 2.

    What a joke. Of course one of his JEBOs will be like that JEBO of Thaler's the paper mentioned when he gets his Nobel, his first field experimant paper.

    As it is, both JEBO and GEB have declined in the past decade. They both were definitely in the top 50 and occasionally even in thop 30. Not there now. OTOH, EE has clearly gone up, even if the Z-tree papers citstions and so on have it too hight. But MS has not been up those ranges ever, at least not in the last half century or so.
