   I didn't qualify for diversity admissions, nor will I qualify for diversity hiring. I know I got underplaced in undergrad and PhD thanks to my skin color. People view my hard work as mechanical. Women think I'm awkward. Media doesn't give two iotas about me; see NYT article on how "Asians aren't discriminated." Idiots think I'm some ccp spy when I'm not even international, let alone Chinese. The only thing I have is my own work ethic, which recently has evaporated because 1) dating apps aren't friendly to Asian men, 2) the party that supports affirmative discrimination, liberals, are all over media spouting their nonsense. Are there no perks to being an Asian in America?

   Dude, I've been there. I ended up at a UC, even though I had a significantly higher SAT I, SAT II, weighted GPA, and varsity sports than non-Asians in my school who got into Harvard, Yale, Stanfurd.
   Bottom line, there is no perk, except when we click up with AR-15s. Then we make our perks happen naturally. That's about what I've concluded after all these years.

   You understand that most Asian Americans own firearms right? Many actually carry one legally too. I bet the majority of the ones you know carry a firearm legally. Does that scare you?

   If guns scare you, maybe America isn't the place for you dude. Tons of people are packing heat. Every time you go to the grocery store, its guaranteed that at least 5-10 people are carrying firearms legally.

    I have a similar story. Skipped a grade and was the typical overachiever. Got top grades, near perfect SAT scores, countless AP, state accolades, the usual stuff. I thought I would be one of those people who would change the world.

    But as it goes, I ended up at a state school, while some of my classmates who didn't have the same academic credentials went to HYPMS.

    I wasted away my college years just playing video games before doing the same at a LRM. I didn't even try my luck at dating.

    I now have an industry job that pays me an absurd amount of money for doing mindless things. I work out and have gotten quite ripped after many years. I'm still awkward around women, and many still ignore me. Yet I've also had gorgeous women who lusted after my body, which is a weird and invigorating feeling.

    So I can't really complain, although it seems becoming a famous scholar at this point is unlikely. My biggest regret is having wasted away college and grad school years playing video games.

Try to find some research you like to do and there won't be room for being angry or sad. I haven't totally managed to do this but I hear it helps.

    Re: dating it's awkward and difficult for everybody, not just Asian American guys. I think it's easier to treat getting to know people as the goal, and if you get lucky you'll meet someone really special. Everybody's just playing the lottery here.

    On that note, I'm a white guy who had 0 success with dating for the last 4 years. Earlier this year, I got brain damage in a car crash. I feel at least 20 IQ points dumber, and I'm in mental pain/discomfort every day. Fatigued, feel like a shadow of my former self, and worried my career is going to fall apart. And now, women are starting to actually message me back on dating apps. Today, I set up dates with two cute women with graduate degrees in STEM subjects. Doesn't make any sense to me. Can only chalk it up to being chilled out from CBD + broken logical brain + feeling overwhelming need.

As for dating, be confident and invest on urself, and pray for meeting the right one. The over-focus on promiscuous seks is a societal disease that is destroying the youth of the west, no need to pity urself if you did not get to seks many women.
