It's pretty annoying, but it's understandable. After all, grades matter a lot to their careers, and when their grades do not meet their expectations and they're disappointed, they always find someone to blame for it. The last person a human blames is himself, and this holds for everyone in every situation.

1. OP, I bet you not an AP, but a 2nd or 3rd year student/TA.
2. You have no meaningful industry experience.
3. You care less if all your students die.1. I am an AP.
2. I have worked in industry and was very successful.
3. I learn a lot from my students and give them zero attitude. -
Learn from this and tighten up your course description and requirements, and DUMB DOWN YOUR EXAMS.
Emphasis mine. And f**k that. For a non-insignificant portion of them, if you dumb down the exams they will simply work less in the course. If you increase the difficulty they will work harder. It won't fully account for the change in difficulty but those are stupid incentives.
Plus, I would rather fail some moron than read about some former ex-student that should have failed who f**ked up an entire company/industry 8 years later.

Unless you are at a top-5 b-school, your students won't have any possibility to f**k up an entire company anyways. So why do you care?

For someone who teaches options it would be quite straightforward to give students an option to the final exam results.
The option is simple. The price is "stop being a lazy douche and take some hours to study and work for the course". In a good state he finds out that he knows what he thinks he knows and does ok in the final. In a bad state he finds out that that he doesn't know what he thinks he knows and bombs the final. By buying the option he effectively turns the bad state into the good state (or close enough... essentially he is making a big improvement on the bad state and if like maybe a small improvement on the good state). Done.

Every once in a while you get a student like this. I once had an undergrad come in and claim that I had not taught them something that was on the exam. I proceeded to pull up the online lecture notes and point out the example we did in class that was EXACTLY the same as the exam question.
There are just people who seem to be clueless. If you get lots of similar complaints, then you probably need to change something. But if you get one of these guys from time to time, don't sweat it.

Hey I'm an elite MBA student. You are the losers here, don't forget that.
You and your friends will be working for somebody like me when your academic dreams wash out. 10 hours a week 9 months a year sounds really tough- and summers off- wait til you get to the real world.
I go to a top school and we have grade non-disclosure so no one has to do any work. This is a complete vacation for me. I have a top internship lined up and I'm getting drunk every day of the week. I tell random girls I'm in grad school so everyone knows I'm smart. No need to study because you can't learn business from a book anyway. I make it rain at the club by dressing nice and picking up the tab (single hot girls only).
Good luck losers with your 100K salaries writing papers no one reads. I'll be out-earning you next year and making multiples by 5 years out.

Your mom was telling me that you are delusional but I am not surprized given your hot mom.

Snoop Dogg is a top-5 MBA?
Whether or not a lot of top MBAs have Goldman dreams and end up middle management at Johnson & Johnson (with a lot of debt) is besides the point. The student in the OP can't pass an an MBA options exam or accept his or her own failure to prepare. He or she is unlikely to make it rain anywhere.
