Me is 2022: Joe Rohan is one of the last threads keeping us from collectively losing sanity

The vitriol directed at Rohan and Petersun remind me of this from Chesterton:
“We shall soon be in a world in which a man may be howled down for saying that two and two make four, in which people will persecute the heresy of calling a triangle a three-sided figure, and hang a man for maddening a mob with the news that grass is green.”

Chesterton was his day's Roe Jogan and Giordon Pyotrsson

Joe Rogan: hamburgers are good but I am trying to eat less pork
Guest: hamburgers are made with beef
Joe Rogan: ham is from pork it says ham in hamburger
Guest: it is beef
Joe Rogan: that's not what I've heard Jamie look that up
Jamie: it beef
Guest: it beef
Joe: ok but can we really trust hamburger makers and butchers and grocery stores when the word ham is in hamburger and ham means pork
Joe Rogan Fans: this is why I like him he is good at thinking

The quote is about vilifying common sense. JR is like your over-curious, well-meaning gym studio owner who always bugs you with science questions, JBPs public persona is that of a wise grandfather. If you paint these two as monsters, it says more about your culture than them.

ITT people don’t understand that high consciousness can make someone who is otherwise relatively average IQ significantly more engaging and valuable that a high IQ guy with low consciousness.

Postscript: Orwell said “some ideas are so stu-pid only intellectuals believe them.”
JR fulfills the function of BS-testing such ideas.
