Michigan Ross Finance Job Market Candidates

She’s out of the department (not taking role in anything except for required mba teaching). Her formal move elsewhere will certainly happen either this or next year, this is not sustainable for either her or them
TW is not moving. Their students are, for the most part, very well trained

If all the potential advisors work on ideas from the 1990s and don’t know or understand where the field is going, you won’t produce strong candidates. Michigan’s problem is that the seniors still think that a paper with a simplistic applied theory model in which nobody believes and some 101 econometrics to “test the predictions” can lead you anywhere. It won’t. Somebody should tell those candidates in year 1 and not once they apply to other schools for job when it’s too late
