This thread shows all that’s wrong with this profession. Trashing a job market candidate at a time when every JMC goes through stress is just abhorring. Rather than working on your own research, trying to pull others down? Really sad.
On whether the guy places well or not, who knows and who cares. There is a market at work here. No recruiting committee makes their decision based on these anonymous posts. So leave him and other JMCs alone.

It's the self promotion people bristle at. Anybody playing self promotion games on an anonymous internet board is a dishonest narcissist and not the type of colleague any of us want to hire.
