2 visiting APs at Tulane,
What are TW's last two or three year's placements? For that matter, what are her last five year's placements?
I would heavily weight the last two or three years' placements.
Those two were from previously. Two most recent placements are XT at Toronto econ and YW at UIUC

RH & XT are recent. RH went to HKU and left for industry in one year; XT is out of econ dept and now at econ dept of Toronto.

What an amazing question! Why didn’t I think of that one before? The death of LZ’s cat has been used as a quasi-exogenous shock to identify factors successfully. Clearly that was a defining moment for the department.

basically a bunch of profs became deadwoods...tyler shumway was more active pre 2008, kim was much more active, ditmars were actually publishing instead of doing administration, seyhun becoming more interested in law instead of doing mainstream finance

Look it’s easy to bash here, but the bottom line is that they do have a couple of research active people there. If you can forge a good working relationship with one of them, then you will have a good outcome. Stating the obvious if you have a top tier offer you don’t have to worry about Ross, just go with your top tier offer.
