Some sessions have open submission, but others say they are by invitation only. What to do if my field is the latter? (It's a long shot to be accepted but I want to try).

You're right of course, but it's more of a personal goal to put together a complete working paper by that time.

attendance is by invitation only, submissions are open to anyone, for all of the sessions. some of the sessions pretty much only invite club members to present but you can always dream OP. you can always dream.
