Any experience with that firm?
Worse sweatshop that being an AP and begging for tenure?
and the atmosphere is good
I've never heard anyone say that about NERA. By all accounts that place is a sweatshop.
Yes. I never heard anything good about the work environment in NERA. They pay is decent and it looks good on a CV.

Well:
(1) When I was on flyouts at consulting firms, basically every one mentioned something about their hours "being not as bad as NERA". Interpret that how you will.
(2) I have spoken to people who have left NERA, and they told me the hours (billiables) they put down. Trust me, I'm an AP and don't work hours anywhere near what these people did.
NERA has require work from its consultants, but if you make Senior VP, you become a partner in the company and you can basically do whatever the f**k the want. You set your own hours and work on the projects you want.
Basically, the NERA promotional process is like tenure on steroids. You must bust your ass to make SVP, but if you do it, you've essentially got tenure and 4 times the paycheck of an academic.
I went there before my PhD, in Europe.
Best name brand in the industry. Can't say how it is in the US but colleagues are all vers bright and the atmosphere is good. Definitely a good name to add to a cv.
so you went there after graduating or you dropped out? does it matter to NERA?
