How are you determining nationality?
Must be CVs
There is no nationality on most CVs. Are they using undergraduate institutions to infer nationality?
Can't be. Mine lists my second nationality, while I did my undergrad degree in the country where I hold my first nationality. I assume they got my second in the webscrape because my CV says "x and y citizen"
Unsure what they do for people who aren't listing their nationality though

My nationality isn’t on my CV, but they guessed correctly that I’m American from my US education. A lot of other people that I know have incorrect nationalities listed.

Perhaps it pulls nationality from CV if it finds the word citizen in it. Otherwise, uses location of undergrad.

Which means that it will vastly overstate the number of Americans, because a lot of non-Americans study in the US for undergrad.
