Noah needs to learn some game theory. Evolution plays mixed strategies. It is obviously not an equilibrium to have only one type of player. In equilibrium, the expected reproductive success of being alpha is the same as the expected reproductive success of being beta. The successful alphas do great, but most people who attempt to reach alpha status fail and are either killed or abandoned by their group.
