As a failed JMC, what can I do to maximize my chances of landing a non-academic job? What skills should I learn and which sectors should I aim for, other than flipping burgers?
Now that data science is "dead", what skill maximizes chances of landing a job?

1yr of trade school, then I worked for several years for an HVAC provider to learn the business. Then I started a franchise in a city of my choice. Cleared 300k last year. I have a math PhD from a top 20 school, published multiple papers in good journals, etc.
Learn HVAC then start your own HVAC business in a quiet rural town. thank me later.
what was your learning path? did you go to community college?

- EJMRYou should watch The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Move to the countryside with Juliette Binoche and enjoy the simple life-it beats being part of the machine in the city.

just change your gender on your app and get the interviews you would have been declined for. At least 'them/they' / agender and 'gay'. Pride flag on all social media pages. If you are a female who isn't blonde, change ethnicity to hispanic. If a european guy below 6' change it so hispanic too. Many Italian guys could easily pass for example. Nobody is playing fair in 2023, you shouldnt either.
