It is taking ages for them to respond concerning the written test and whether I'm invited to the interview or not...they told me the process is still ongoing and results will be sent out soon (waiting almost 3 months since taking written test)...however I'd like to start preparing for the interview just in case...any advice? thanks in advance!

I took my written exam 4 months ago and still no answer....they keep answering to my emails saying they won't fail to get back to me when the exam's results are ready...but I can't help but wondering, am I still in the process? 4 months to correct an exam? Is that normal? Anyone in this situation?

I see lots of confusion here so let me shed some light. After many attempts, I finally got hired as an A1 1 year ago. I did a written test and got an online interview after 2 months of writing the test. And got the formal job offer 1 month after the interview. How long the process takes depends on not just HR, but so much of it comes down to how proactive and/or desperate the hiring manager and the director are. I think I just got lucky that I have a really good hiring manager and director who were really keen on hiring someone. In past years when I applied, I had to wait 6+ months to even 1 year before I heard anything back (by this I mean the rejection email). So bottom line, it's NOT a directorate thing, it's a totally hiring manager thing.

It’s been a few months since I had my panel interview, references contacted, and a change in status the portal within the last couple weeks (withdraw button is still there) but no email. Recruiter says it still may take a couple weeks before they can tell us anything.
Can I safely assume this means I’m out/not the first selected candidate?

clarification: there has been a recent-ish change in the portal, and I believe HR has finished reviewing the report.

Does anyone have insights on the hiring process within the job market?
I was invited directly to an interview without any written assignment and I am wondering what that means and how should I prepare...Well, congrats! The process is a bit different than for other positions and they follow the structure of economic departments. You have a 30-min interview (be prepared to answer what are the policy implications of your JMP) and then there is a fly-out. When did you hear from them? Was it this week? I just realized I got an update a few days ago on 'my job page' but no communication.

For those who apply for a Ph.D., when most economist and analyst positions are two-year fixed term slots, do the people usually leave after two years?
What are the chances of getting a permanent post after the fixed term contracts?
What are the exit options for those coming with a doctoral degree?
