I am also interested in this:
What about security check/clearance process or reference checking? Are there such processes at OECD before an offer is made?
If yes, who (or which organization) carries out security/background check?OECD bro here again. Reference checking will be done for external candidates. They will inform you per email before doing so. No security check.
Currently the OECD has problems with gender equality and its budget (US, largest contributor might cut its contributions); could be that the length of the selection process is related to that.
Thanks a lot again. You help us very much.
I have further comments:
- When and for whom will reference checking be done? Just before the final decision and just for the selected candidate OR for all shortlisted candidates at an earlier stage?
- Gender equality is almost impossible to achieve in practice. My specialization is on a very specific topic and I am sure that all short listed candidates are male as it is a very small pool and I know everyone in my area.
- Cuts in US contributions are announced in mid 2017 but this position is advertised at the end of 2017. So, I am sure that this is not a problem for this position.
