I think there are some legitimate complaints about the expertise and experience of SOME of the current TAR editors. But those get lost in the message when people start making petty and often misinformed attacks on people. Be better folks.

Coauthors: Knechel, Kadous, Carter, Leone, Donelson… yep looks like these ones contributed

Demand side here. The only bona fide top school star this year is GS from Chicago. Other top school candidates weaker than usual on average. Some good candidates from the next tier down. Feels like a less top-heavy year than usual though.

I have to agree. We usually interview several people who are quite good and we are trying to select the best person out of 7 or 8 that are above the bar. This year there were only 3 above the bar. It did make the selection process easier. I also noticed a gender imbalance this year, for the first time. On average, the pool of women were substantially better than the the pool of men.

It is harder for seniors to move if they do not have mentoring experience. Did KN supervise any PhD students? I can't recall any names

What a coincidence! This year no "top school stars" only 3 above the bar. lol
