Sometimes, it is very easy to publish in JFE, especially under the last editor.

Tahoun did not just publish in top finance journals but also in top econ and accounting. He has 5 top finance, 2 top econ, 4 top accounting. Why is he in a random school, not a top US?
Maybe he doesn't want to live in the crimeridden streets of Atlanta, Chicago, LA, New York, or Bumfvk City Illinois
Why is Tahoun not in one of the top 5 US Schools? I mean, I have not a record like his for a young academic, even in a place like MIT
Stop counting pubs. You are asking why he isnt in a TOP ACCOUNTING department. Most of those pubs are not in accounting or related to accounting in traditional sense.
Chicago has a serious case of econ-envy, but few other top places do.
I think Tahoun’s pubs on text and measurements will affect a lot of future research in accounting. He got an offer from Booth, but I think he loves London. I wouldn't say I like measurement work, but you CLEARLY see his impact. He also has very innovative research, not to my taste, but I have to be fair
