Does anyone have any idea why a post would appear, only to disappear seconds later?

JCP editors, again, are picked and look like very random people. Who is Lauren Block? Who is Thomas Kramer? Why are they picking these unknown people? Does marketing have a problem of no one wanting to take editorial jobs?
For the last question: No, unfortunately no one actually wants to take on editorship positions anymore, for a variety of reasons.
However, I must disagree with the JCP comment, I actually know and have read several research articles of both, seem like much better choices than the new JCR team. Still not as good as Mukhopadhyay and Wheeler, but better than JCR for sure.
That trend has actually remained in place since the last recession and this may accelerate it.
We have a hiring freeze at my school (big state school in the Northeast), so I highly doubt we will go to AMA this year. However, I would not be surprised if we try to hire in January. We hire most years and actually grew in enrollment during the last recession. If history repeats itself, this recession will benefit state schools and hurt more expensive private schools (except the top tier).
please elaborate. The AMA conference goes visual in August instead of postponed. Will the job market also go visual?I meant lines will open up later in the year. So the real job market (the bulk of the jobs) will likely be posted in the fall or winter.
Fall is totally unlikely for US schools. Some schools may resume hiring in spring. Most schools will not resume hiring until 2021 summer, including my school (a top 50 private school). Though I heard some international schools still have hiring plans in fall.
There will be jobs. Less jobs. But there will be jobs. The average candidate received about 2 offers over the last 3 years. Expect it to be about half. One benefit, departments might be a little less picky than years previous because the lines are more tenuous, and if the dean has approved a rookie hire they would be foolish to drag their feet because that money will disappear.
I know this sucks. But, it will not be as bad as you’re imagining it right now.

There may will be positions, that does not mean schools will hire. Most likely about 50% of the schools will not hire to be on the safe side, but jobs may reopen in winter.
